The Philippine Internet Commerce Society (PICS), together with the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) and the Philippine Internet Services Organization (PISO) is commemorating the founding of the internet in the country a decade ago through a one-day industry event dubbed as DEKADA : A Decade of Internet in the Philippines, slated to be held on March 29, 2004 at the Grand Ballroom of the Makati Sports Club, Salcedo Village, Makati City.

This year’s celebration focuses on the 10 years of the internet in the country and the great future that lies ahead for us. Here are the video archives of the event from Globe, Digitel, Infocom and Eastern.

AMDG has invited Bitstop to attend the Press launch at Cafe Lupe on March 24, 2004. The main launch is on One Luna on March 27, 2004 at Eastwood Libis.

A lot of eager gamers are awaiting this game launch. For invites to the affair, a limited number of tickets are available at Bitstop.

Digitel launched Phase II of its aDSL expansion program and has tapped Bitstop to provide end-user technical support to all its installed base of aDSL subscribers in Region I. (La Union will be handled by Basic Internet.)

This move will bring the benefits of Bitstop’s extensive customer care experience and Digitel’s massive last mile infrastructure to the end user.

Bitstop will be in need of 10 additional outbound and inbound customer care specialist and 10 additional marketing research assistants. Interested applicants with good command of spoken and written English are preferred.

Bitstop placed an order for 1 pldt e1/r2 (5238000) line and 2 digitel (5147111) e1/r2 lines. This makes for 90 additional 56k v.92 compatible dialup lines.

When installed, Bitstop’s total 56k dialup lines will total 300. The 56kdialup lines are v.92 compatible which features better compression algorithms and faster connect time (typically under 3 seconds).

The lines should be up in 14 days.

Plans are afoot as to the 10th year anniversary of Philippine Internet. Scheduled video conferences are being planned. Interested parties are encouraged to contact help@dagupan.com for more details.

NLAC (Northern Luzon Adventist College) in Artacho Sison signed today , a memorandum of agreement to upgrade their dialup connection to a full 128kbps lease line connection.
