Flood Information on Dagupan and Pangasinan

Oct 12, 2009, 2pm Update: List of passable roads, courtesy of GMA TV http://www.gmanews.tv/story/174404/ndcc-list-of-impassable-roads-as-of-oct-12-2009

Oct 12, 2009 8am Update: Transportation is much better today as flood waters have receeded in most parts. However, the Dams are still releasing waters into the rivers. Source: http://kidlat.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/ffb/dam_stat.htm: Ambulklao, 2Gates 2m, Binga, 2Gates 2m, and San Roque 1 gate, 1.2m.

Oct 10, 2009 6pm Update: Power is restored in our Data Center in bonuan We do not know the status for the rest of the city. Jeepney routes are open up to Gorings. Nepo Mall is still unpassable to small vehicles.

Oct 10, 2009 9am Update. There is NO truth to the rumor that there are cracks in San Roque Dam. We have word from San Roque that the DAM is still solid. It is still releasing water on all 6 gates but at a lower rate.  "This is to assure the public - San Roque Dam is INTACT. There is no crack. There will be no dam break.  The dam is strong and firm." -Tom Valdez, Vice President, San Roque Power Corp.

Oct 9, 2009 Update from Simon Francis Vistro: Power supply will be out indefinitely because of the flooded areas and the DECORP plant in Calasiao is flooded

Oct 8, 2009 -We only have scant news as the city is on power blackouts. No radio,  cellphone coverage is also spotty. We know that San Roque Dam has opened all 6 flood gates and water has flooded all the major roads. Some of our agents were stranded in Mangaldan. We dont know when power will be restored, neither do we know why there is a blackout.

Gravatar We are now experiencing the worst disaster in Pangasinan, after the 1990 killer earthquake, due to typhoon Pepeng that continue to batter Northern Luzon for a week now. More than 80% of Pangasinan is now inundated with flood waters and tens of thousands of ou provincemates are now in need of help.

The big rivers, like Agno River that traverses Eastern Pangasinan from San Manuel and Central Pangasinan to Lingayen and Bued form Sison to San Fabian, and their tributaries like Angalacan River that passes in Pozorrubio, Manaoag, San Jacinto and Mangaldan; Sinocalan River that passes through Asingan, Urdaneta, Sta Barbara, Calasiao, down the Pantal River in Dagupan City; Aloragat River from Sison, Binalonan, Pozorrubio, Laoac, Manaoag, San Jacinto, Mangaldan; AMburayan River and other tributaries have overflown.

We urge everyone to please extend assistance to Pangasinan and our provincemates.

Sincerely,

Atty. Raul Lambino
