Businessman gets two years for selling pirated software

MANILA, Philippines -- A businessman engaged in selling computer parts has been sentenced to two years in prison by the Manila Regional Trial Court for peddling pirated software. Paquito Cantemprate Jr., owner of Benpaq Enterprises on H. Lopez Boulevard, Tondo, was also ordered by Judge Antonio Eugenio of RTC Branch 24 to pay a fine of P50,000 after he was found violating Republic Act 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code. Call for Power Source RFP

Bitstop Inc is currently looking at a better long term power supply solution for our data center. We have several UPS from name brands like APC and Liebert. We also have huge generator set. But we feel that a better solution is out there. Our needs are as follows: Power to supply at least 20KVA with option to add more for growth to 50KVA. The generated power should be stable and suitable for highly sensitive electronic components. The power source would ideally be 'green' and not contribute to greenhouse gases and must be at lesat 99.999% reliable. Please forward your proposals to wilson[at]bitstop.ph

Festival Mall Stores raided by NBI for Pirated Software

The latest Pilipinas Anti-Piracy Team (PAPT) - Retail Channel Enforcement action resulted in FOUR SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS in popular shopping complexes located in different cities in Metro Manila including Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Makati and Manila for software piracy. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) confiscated all computers that were found loaded with pirated software as well as pirated software installers and will be used as evidence against the raided stores. This was executed in violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Code of the Philippines where offenders could be facing potential fines of up to 1.5 MILLION PESOS...

Please be informed that there is a reported case of stolen laptop. See below mail from client. Kindly inform HP Services immediately should you encounter an HP Compaq NX6320 with s/n: CNU720078Q for repair . Please be advised that TBLINC-PBSP purchased 19 laptops from AMTI and have been using the units for some time until one of the units was lost last end of August. An incident report was prepared internally for TBLINC-PBSP purposes but was not able to acquire a police report because the police station would require to conduct their own investigation as a requisite for a police report....

Digital Webcast for Monster RX

BNS Media Team headed by Sheila and Monster RX staff worked together to get a live feed and encode the stream ON site! This results in a clearer audio webcast! We previously encoded the off the airwave signals via our tuners.

2nd Chroma UPS blows UP

A system wide outage has been reported that was traced to our 2nd Chroma UPS blowing up. The downtime was from 8:30 to 9:30. We will be replacing the Chroma UPS. Our thanks to staff that responded to the problem
