Windows XP Starter Edition

bitstop was invited to attend the pre-launch orientation from Microsoft Philippines about a soon to be launched Windows XP edition. This edition is called the Starter Edition. It will be even more affordable than the Windows XP Home Edition. Like the Home Edition, the Starter Edition can not be joined to a network. It can also only run 3 programs at a time. Each of these 3 program can have a maximum of 3 windows (instances) running. Wifi Hotspot Training Seminar 2006

Here are pictures of the recently concluded Wifi Hotspot workshop. The event was conducted at Farmout Call Center Training at the 3rd floor of New Sim Too Bldg., Dagupan City. The participants were shown how to setup a Wifi Hotspot, and enable the built-in user authentication, accounting and management system. Firewall basics, and wifi security was also demonstrated. Also discussed was web acceleration basics like DNS, DHCP, and proxy cacheing.

Mozcom Advisory: Power failure @ Peak

Mozcom headoffice has just informed bitstop that their systems are now shut off. The building that they are in has lost power, and while the generators kicked in, the power transfer switch did not. Their UPS battery has already given way. Mozcom prepaid and postpaid accounts are going to be unable to login. Pangasinan accounts are still able to login. Please bear with us.
